project selection- My decesion

I have decided to do the magazine. I think that this is the best choice for me considering my skills. Some things I believe that will help me in writing the magazine is my background skills in interior design and my skills to elaborate on a picture and describe it in great detail. My main determining factors for the decision is mainly the skill of writing. I also think I am better at taking still photos compared to shooting a video. It is also better for the time line to be able to take multiple pictures compared to multiple shots for a film. I am going to decide to work alone. I decided to work alone because I want to ensure that everything is working smoothly and it will be turned in and completed on time. I would categorize my magazine as a lifestyle magazine. Since the main article will be about interior designed, I believe it will be similar to articles that are already in the lifestyle magazines. I haven't decided on a specific part of the house I will be focusing on or if I am going to do an article about the entire house.

project selection-film

Some aspects of film that interest me are filming the process. I really enjoy editing and using all the different camera shots to get good shots that have deeper meanings or cuts that say more than the dialogue between the characters. I have done some film projects in my past. Something that I think I would be good at is editing. I like to see how a bunch of shots come together and becomes something Watching a piece after working hard on it is pleasing to me and I enjoy going through this process. Some things that may be a challenge to me is coming up with ideas for what the movie would be about. Coming up with some ideas would be difficult. I don't think I am the most creative person and i wouldn't want a film that doesn't leave an impact. I think that it is important for every film whether it was a short film or long, to leave an impact on the viewer and leave them thinking about a message that was within the film.

Project Selcetion- Magazine

An aspect of journalism that interests me is the magazine. I think that this would be a good fit for me because I am very good when it comes to descriptive writing. I was thinking about doing the magazine as an interior design one. I think that this sparks my interest because I have taken a course in interior design so I know what people look for in articles and how to describe it. I don't think that creating a movie would be a good option for me because I am not the best when it comes to coming up with creative ideas that can leave an impact on someone. Some challenges that I am going to face are the pictures. I do own a professional camera, its more the location I am worried about. Getting peoples permission to take photos in their home may be a challenge. I want to make sure that the pictures will be from different locations so there is a variety in the magazine of different examples from all over. Having the variety of images will give me the ability to comment more on the styles and such of the picture. Another thing that I am worried about is how long the article is. I may run out of things to write about and it may be too short. Something that I can do to prevent this is if i add more pictures and more locations of different items, I can comment on this and add a few tips for designing the inside of your home with some of the background knowledge I have of interior design.
