Scout locations for photo shoots
I plan on going to an open house where the house is already fully furnished. I figured that this would be a good idea because I can get an idea of the rooms where everything is already set up and decorated. This would give readers a good understanding of how to set up a room with a certain shape or what the use of the room will be. Another place I plan on going is my own house. Using my moms room for a picture on how to use an accent wall in a room to give it more life. This would be a good idea because this will be one of the topics in the article.
Schedule photoshoots
I plan on photographing the rooms and the way things are set up. First I have to find an open house that is fully furnished so I am able to go in and ask to take pictures. I plan on explaining to them what it is for and hopefully getting their approval. I am able to get photos of my moms room anytime since it is from my house. I still plan on asking permission and ensuring that the room is cleaned and organized. I am still deciding whether I want to take the pictures on my phone or on a professional camera. There are a few open houses this weekend on times that work for me. I plan on bringing my friend with me just for another point of view. I plan on taking pictures of things that I think will go well with the topic of the article (things on shelves, accent colors, decorations etc.)

schedule interviews/ develop questions
Someone I plan on interviewing for the magazine is a professional home designer. I plan on first calling and asking for their permission to have either a face to face interview or an over the phone interview-which ever is easier for them. I think that having this personal contact and a unstructured interview will give me more of a depth of explanation for their responses for a better understanding. Some questions I plan on asking them are:
"when did you start to get into the career of interior designing?"
"can anyone start a career in interior design?"
"What are your favorite things to do in order to fill a room?"
I plan on asking these questions because I want to do the article "Designing tips for beginners". With asking these types of questions, I want to show the readers that anyone can become a designer, with a little practicing and knowing what colors go well together or how to fill space properly can encourage them to start designing theirselves.

Table of contents template
In my table of contents, I plan on showcasing the 3 main articles that are within the magazine. I did this because when I was doing my research for the magazine ideas, I saw that most table of contents dont include all the articles, but only a few of them. I think this is better so it doesn't give away the whole magazine, but encourages people to continue reading and purchasing the magazine. I plan on putting 3 images in the table of contents. These images will have to do with the article and give the reader a showcase of what the article will contain if the reader doesn't quite understand the title. Another reason for the image is it might spark interest of the reader to open the magazine and read the article. It is in the beginning of the magazine so it is important to grab the readers attention early to encourage them to continue reading.
Flat plan
In my flat plan, I have 12 articles. All of these articles have to do with interior design and tips how to design your home to your liking. I have a good balance between articles and ads which is around a 50/50 balance. One of the articles is titled Creating Space in a Room. This will be about how to rearrange a room so it is using the space in the room to its best ability. This article will give you tips on how to maximize a rooms usage and not feel too over or under crowded. Another article in this magazine is titled Best Homes 2019. In this article, it will showcase people who have submitted their home for an award of the best home. I decided to include this article because while doing my magazine research, I found that a lot of lifestyle magazine that had to do with interior designing had rankings of the best houses for the year and would showcase them in their magazine. Another article I have in this magazine is Designing Tips for Beginners. In this article, I plan on talking about how people that don't have an eye for design can create a room that looks like a professional did it. This will include pictures of examples on how to add a pop of color to a room or how to add decor to make the room more full.
